Just like there are food groups that help boost testosterone, there are also foods that lower testosterone levels.
Many of these T-lowering foods are claimed to be “”healthy”” by mainstream media and nutritionists…
But when you look at the scientific studies behind the effects of these foods within the body, one thing is very clear: they are detrimental for your testosterone and your hormonal health.
In this quick article, I’m going to lay out the 3 types of food you should avoid at all costs if you want to maintain T-levels that are high.
1.) Foods High in Vegetable Oils
Common vegetable oils include canola oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, peanut oil, corn oil, and cottonseed oil.
Vegetable oil contain extremely high amounts of polyunsaturated fatty acids, also known as PUFAs.
PUFAs wreak havoc on your hormonal health and are directly related to lower T-levels.
In fact, there was a study done in 1997 that demonstrated the effects of different types of fats on testosterone production.
Here are the key findings:
- An increase in total fat intake increased T-levels
- An increased intake of monounsaturated fats increased T-levels
- An increased intake of saturated fats increased T-levels
- An increased intake of polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs) decreased T-levels.
So do yourself a favor and avoid all kinds of vegetable oil and any product that contains them.
2.) Flaxseeds and Flaxseed Products
Flaxseeds have become a very popular “”health food”” due to mainstream media and the general culture of the nutrition industry today.
However, when you actually look at the studies done on flaxseeds and how they affect the body, you discover that flaxseeds are everything but a health food.
Flax seeds contain extremely high concentrations of a compound called “”lignans.”” Lignans are highly estrogenic, work against the conversion of testosterone to DHT, and they reduce total and free testosterone.
To illustrate my point further, let’s look at a study done on flaxseeds.
This particular study took 25 males and gave them 30 grams of flaxseeds per day for 30 days. The results?
The average drop in total testosterone was 15% and the average drop in free testosterone was 20%!
For this reason, we highly recommend against the consumption of all flaxseeds and flaxseed products.
3.) Soy Products
There are many controversial topics around soy products, one of them being their effect on testosterone.
One reason soy products may be detrimental to your testosterone is because they contain a high amount of phytoestrogens known as isoflavones.
The different types of isoflavones include genistein, daidzein, and glycitein. These have been shown to activate estrogen receptors while simultaneously down regulate androgen receptor activity.
Soy is also highly “”goitrogenic,”” meaning that is disrupts the production of thyroid hormones. Suppressed thyroid activity is the leading cause of low testosterone in men today!
That being said, soy products are definitely something you want to avoid if you want to enjoy the benefits of high testosterone.
The Easiest Way to Increase Your T-Levels
The quickest and easiest way to boost testosterone and increase your body’s natural ability to produce testosterone is by eliminating any micronutrient deficiencies you have…
Why eliminate micronutrient deficiencies?
The endocrine system, which is responsible for producing testosterone, needs specific vitamins and minerals to function at its highest potential.
Any micronutrient deficiencies you have is seriously hurting your ability to produce T naturally.
However, if your endocrine system has all the proper “”ingredients”” it needs, it’s able to produce testosterone optimally. It’s not uncommon to see men double or even triple their testosterone by simply eliminating their micronutrient deficiencies…
Getting rid of the above foods from your diet is taking one huge step in the right direction.
The next best step you can take is supplementing your diet with the right micronutrients… this will supercharge your body’s ability to produce testosterone naturally.
What is the best supplement to eliminate micronutrient deficiencies?
Let’s be honest…
Almost all “”testosterone boosters”” on the market today are complete junk.
- They contain “”proprietary blends,”” which do not allow you to see the exact dosages of any individual ingredient. Therefore you have no idea if the supplement contains the right dosage of ingredients to illicit the desired results.
- They don’t contain the most bioavailable form of individual ingredients, so your body cannot absorb these ingredients.
- They have no peer-reviewed research showing the effectiveness of the ingredients in humans.
So for the longest time, I recommended buying individual vitamins and minerals for men to eliminate their micronutrient deficiencies. However, this was extremely expensive and inconvenient.
Therefore, out of necessity, I came up with my own supplement that helps eliminate micronutrient deficiencies like no other supplement on the market today.
It contains the most bioavailable and natural ingredients
in the right clinically effective dosages, that have actually been proven to work in humans…
I call it Testro-X.
