Garlic Butter and Thyme Ribeye
Ingredients
- 16 oz ribeye
- 2 tbsp grass-fed unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- coarse sea salt and pepper
Instructions
- Rinse steak and pat dry. Season both sides well with salt andpepper. Let sit at room temp for about 15 minutes.
- In a large cast iron skillet, heat olive oil on high-heat. Addseasoned steak to hot pan and cook for about 5 minutes to get agood crust on it. Flip steaks and then add butter, garlic and thymesprigs to the pan.
- While the steak is cooking, take your spoon and start tocontinuously ladle the melted butter, garlic and thyme mixtureover the top of the steak. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes,which will give you a medium-rare steak.
- Once steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness, removefrom pan.
- Spoon any of the remaining butter, garlic and thyme on top andplace on a cutting board.
- Let rest for 5-10 minutes
