Aside from the amazing flavor, let’s talk about the health factors of this particular dressing. With tomatoes as a base, you’ll have the benefit of a rich source of the antioxidant lycopene, which has been associated with such health benefits like lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Plus, tomatoes are also a good source of a variety of nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin K, folate and potassium.

The balsamic vinegar also comes with its own set of healthy properties. For starters, it’s been linked to lower cholesterol levels, healthy digestion, regulated blood pressure levels, lower blood sugar levels and weight loss. Balsamic vinegar has even been linked to better skin health thanks to its antimicrobial compounds, antioxidants and acetic acid.

Of course, the olive oil and garlic are superfoods in their own right, with the former possessing anti-inflammatory properties and helping to promote good heart health, and the latter having the ability to fight off viruses and lower cholesterol levels. This sauce is nothing short of a health powerhouse!
